Timeclock 2.0: Self-service attendance tracking

Looking for a better way to track employees’ time and attendance? If your employees do their work on computers, a self-service system may be for you.

Self-service time and attendance systems replace paper time sheets and on-the-wall punch clocks with software loaded onto each workers’ computer (or onto shared computers employees have access to).

Many of these programs are software-as-a-service modules, which means you don’t need to install anything on your network, running the software over the Internet instead. Also, the software usually integrates with payroll programs to make the whole process easier.

If you’re still using manual ways of tracking time but are looking to go electronic, self-service systems can be a good way to do it, assuming most employees use computers, or at least have access to a computer. Some vendors also sell punch clock hardware that can be integrated into the same system, so you can use both that and the software at the same time.

I am confused as to why such industry leaders in online timesheet applications and services like Kronos and ADP could be left of this list of vendors? Especially when the statement :Check out some of the top suppliers offering the service:” precedes the listing and there is no further qualification.
