Product Overview

Infinity HR is an Internet-based Human Resource Management System that provides for extensive automation of all HR-related activities. The company prides themselves on their ability to combine business know-how and technology into the best software tools currently on the market, and unlike many other human resource management software companies, Infinity’s software comes in two versions:Professional and Premium. These two packages are differentiate it from the other HR software competitors, and allow the company to bring a wide variety of features to companies for extremely competitive prices.

The “Professional” version starts at $99 per month and includes the ability for a company to add on features for an additional $49 per month, per add on. The “Premium” edition is priced according to a PEPM (per-employee-per-month) pricing schedule that varies depending upon the size of an organization. Throughout this product review, we will highlight the main differences between the two versions in the categories below to help you determine which option is best for your company.

Who Should Use This Product

This product is a great feature for any professional in human resources or payroll to use on a daily basis to make their jobs a bit easier and their productivity increase. The web-based system also has features that allow an organization’s employees to log on, complete surveys, and view important information regarding their benefits and plans available to them.

Compensation and Benefits Features

These topics are covered under the “Benefits Management” section of the software, and enables employees, administrators, carriers and payroll to connect through one central system that can be accessed anytime via the web. In this feature, employees have the option to update and enter new hire, open enrollment and qualified events themselves, and also to compare, analyze and check plan costs prior to benefits enrollment. Employees can also enroll in or change all aspects of their benefits information themselves, without having to fill out any paperwork or meet with HR to make the changes. Management can approve and manage employee benefits and compile all of the data with extensive reporting tools available in this section of the software.

The “Professional” and “Premium” versions of the software allow for the full management of benefits and the availability of statements for benefits and total compensation, but the upgrade to the “Premium” version gets you automatic data exports to carriers and to payroll.
Performance Review Features
Employee performance reviews are available as part of the “Premium” version of the software and can be an “Add On” for an additional charge to the “Professional” version. Many other HR software companies have this feature available for no extra charge as part of their standard packages, so this may seem like a necessary feature yet unwanted extra expense for some companies, so this is something to consider with InfinityHR.

Application Tracking Features

Infinity’s applicant tracking system is available with the “Premium” version at no extra charge and available on the “Professional” version as an Add-On. If you choose to take on the applicant tracking system, it starts with a unique web-based application system that gives a applicants a professional image of the company where they can apply online for open positions in a simple process. This system allows managers or staff in human resources to centralize job requisitions in one system, link external job boards to a uniform applicant tracking system, and easily view all applicants for a single position so managers can track their status throughout the screening process. The software also comes with an easy to use dashboard to help organize all of the applicant information and documents.

Government Compliance Features

Neither the “Professional” nor “Premium” version comes with the tools and capabilities to monitor and manage any government risk, compliance or regulatory laws. If your company is looking to integrate HR software to help with compliance issues, InfinityHR should probably not be one of your top contenders when making a purchasing decision.

Training/Learning Management Features

There are three features of the software that can be applicable to the training and learning management of employees, although some are only available as an Add-On feature.: Process/Workflow Management and Wellness Tracking are available to “Premium” users and available to “Professional” users for as an Add-On, and Employee Skills Tracking is available on both versions for no extra fee. Process/Workflow Management can be a helpful tool when compiling information for performance reviews so you can show employees their strengths and weaknesses in regard to their productivity and overall working process. Wellness Tracking can be helpful if your company has a heath and/or wellness initiative as part of its culture or values, and can track things like health risks, medical histories and impact on health benefits. Employee Skills Tracking can also aid in the development of reports for performance reviews, help organize information regarding an employee’s extended education or skill training and report how it has been applied to their job.

Time and Attendance Features

The feature for time and attendance is also available as an Add-On feature to the “Professional” version and is included in the “Premium” version for no extra cost. Employees to enter their time and managers can approve it through the Employee Portal, eliminating paper usage and extra time. After approval from a manager, InfinityHR then electronically routes the data to your payroll provider for processing. Managers can also view employee time by any time period, and see totals for each time period selected, allowing for managers to to proactively control and manage attendance, absenteeism, productivity, and overtime. Automating the process to payroll helps to eliminate errors caused by redundant data entry or by the collection and calculation of time cards by hand.

Overall, Infinity HR software does provide a good amount of features that many companies would find beneficial, but in comparison to some of the other systems out there, it seems that Infinity HR leaves out a lot of what would otherwise be considered “standard” features in their “Professional” version. If your organization is looking for a comprehensive coverage of all of the latest HR management features, you may find that purchasing the “Premium” version of Infinity HR is the best option. For those companies who only want a select amount of features and find all of the extras unnecessary, the “Professional” version could be the best choice for you, allowing you to customize your purchase with extra Add-On options as deemed appropriate. Infinity’s website has a comprehensive list of the features available on each version, so it is suggested to get informed about the availability of your desired tools before making a purchase decision.
