You’d think all employees would know the difference between appropriate and inappropriate workplace computer use.

But it looks like that’s not the case — and it may be getting worse, according to IT security firm MessageLabs.

A recent MessageLabs study looked at all the times a Web site was blocked by its URL Filtering Service.

The result: 85% percent of sexually explicit Web blocks occur during the work day. Almost 30% occur around the time most employees take lunch.

Basically, what it means is many people try to access online pornography at work — and more companies than ever are trying to stop them, because of concerns about harassment, lost productivity and data security threats.
